Following the announcement on Monday 4th January 2021 that schools would be closed to all children except for those who are vulnerable or children of critical workers, we would like to ensure that all parents and carers are aware of the following key information.
Remote learning Information Letter - January 2021
All lessons will be live streamed on Microsoft Teams. The work packs that have been delivered will include instructions of how to access this using your child’s personal username and password. The accounts will be live from 8.45am Tuesday 5th January 2021 for all children. We will be monitoring engagement with the remote learning. Therefore, should children not be taking part, we will contact you to ensure that all children are continuing their learning.
Lessons will be live streamed every school day at the following times:
9.15am - Maths
11.15am - English/Phonics
1.15pm - Pathways
Notes:
1. Maths lessons on Tuesday will start with our school assembly with Mr Atherton.
2. PE will still occur on Fridays for every year group.
3. Dance lessons will still take place every Thursday.
Please check your Calendar on Microsoft Teams to see your lesson schedule.
We have chosen to use live lessons everyday to ensure that children have the opportunity to engage with their teacher, receive live feedback on their work and boost engagement with learning whilst working from home. We also believe that these live lessons will increase interactions and provide a learning environment as close to normal as possible. This will keep morale and spirits high in our school community and help maintain good physical and mental health. It will also enable teachers to see and talk to every child, every day to identify any arising issues and to support as necessary.
Laptops & Devices
We are delighted that through the DfE laptop scheme and following generous donations form our local community, we have managed to allocate devices to 60 children who are working from home. This has helped us to acheieve 100% engagement in live lessons on a daily basis.
Should parents require a device or additional internet data, please email our Family Support team: familysupport@watersideprimaryacademy.org
Behaviour Policy Addendum
To ensure that our main Behaviour Policy is clear, fair and robust for home learning, we have introduced the following addendum:
Child Protection Addendum
To support all children and families working from home, we have created a Child Protection Policy Addendum to ensure our culture of safeguarding continues whether your child is in school or learning from home:
